If you work a striped cardigan in 2 or 3
colours, you will need half or one third the amount of the stated amount of yarn above per colour.
If you work the front plackets in a contrasting colour, calculate 1-2 extra skeins.

For the classic button placket
5 to 8 buttons, ø approx. 23 mm.

For the front plackets in double face
5 to 8 snap fasteners, ø approx. 23 mm
and additional 5 to 8 buttons, ø approx. 23 mm.

The longer the body is worked, the more buttons you will need (the more button holes you have to work).

Recommended needles
Circular needles
3,0 mm, 40 cm - 60 cm and min. 80 cm,
3,5 mm, 40 cm - 60 cm and min. 80 cm.
For the front plackets in double face, you will need an additional circular needle 3 mm (40 cm) or a 3 mm double pointed needle.

Gauge, washed and blocked
10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch = 24 stitches x 32 rows or rounds on needle 3,5 mm with original yarn.

Supplies
Stitch markers, 2 stitch holders or waste yarn or Scoubidou placket, wool needle, measur-ing tape, scissors.

Aava Cardigan is a classic cardigan with a moderate boat neck that can be worn all year round and that can be wonderfully combined with other garments.
Starting at the neckline, it is worked seamlessly top down using the contiguous method.

The neckline is shaped with short rows, while at the same time, the shoulders are worked with right and left leaning increases.

Thereafter, increases for the sleeves are worked, followed by classic raglan increases.

Once the sleeves stitches have been placed on hold, the body is worked flat and ends with a ribbed hem.

You can choose between the boxy shape or the classic shape with decreases.

The sleeves are worked in rounds and are fin-ished with ribbed cuffs.
At the end, you pick up stitches along the front edges to work the front plackets.

You can either work button plackets in a classic rib pattern or somewhat more elaborate front plackets in double face.

According to the method, you will need more yarn for the front plackets in double face.
Please consider this and have an additional skein of yarn ready, if you want to work this version.

Strickst du den Cardigan gestreift, benötigst du bei 2 oder 3 Farben je die Hälfte oder ein Drittel der oben angegebenen Menge pro Farbe.

Für die klassische Knopfblende
5 bis 8 Knöpfe, Durchmesser ca. 23 mm.

Für Double Face Blende
5 bis 8 Druckknöpfe, Durchmesser ca. 23 mm
und zusätzlich 5 bis 8 Knöpfe,

Je länger dein Rumpf ist, desto mehr
Knöpfe brauchst du und desto mehr
Knopflöcher solltest du arbeiten.

Nadeln
Rundnadeln
3,0 mm, 40 cm bis 60 cm und mindestens 80 cm,

Für die Double Face Blende benötigst du zusätzlich eine Rundnadel 3 mm, 40 cm lang, oder eine Nadel 3 mm eines Nadelspiels.

Maschenprobe, gewaschen und gespannt
10 x 10 cm glatt rechts = 24 Maschen x 32 Reihen oder Runden mit Nadel 3,5 mm im Originalgarn.

Der Aava Cardigan ist ein klassischer Cardigan mit gemäßigtem
U-Boot-Ausschnitt, den du das ganze Jahr über tragen kannst und der sich wunderbar kombinieren lässt.
Er wird, beginnend am Halsbündchen nahtlos von oben nach unten, in der Contiguous Methode gestrickt.

Der Halsausschnitt wird mit verkürzten Reihen geformt, zeitgleich wird die Schulterpartie mit nach rechts und links geneigten Zunahmen gearbeitet.

Danach werden Zunahmen für die Ärmel gearbeitet. Im dritten Schritt werden klassische Raglanzunahmen gestrickt.

Nach Abtrennung der Ärmel wird der Rumpf in Reihen gestrickt und endet mit einem Rippenbündchen.

Du kannst zwischen der kastigen Boxy-Form oder der klassischen Form mit Abnahmen wählen.

Die Ärmel werden in Runden gestrickt und haben ebenfalls Rippenbündchen.
Zum Schluss werden Maschen aus den Seitenrändern der Vorderteile aufgenommen und die Blenden gearbeitet.

Du hast die Wahl zwischen einer klassischen Rippenblende oder einer etwasaufwändigeren Double Face Blende (Doppelstrickblende) im Tunnelpatent.

Die Doppelstrickblende benötigt durch die Strickart mehr Garn.
Bitte bedenke das und halte lieber 1 Knäuel mehr Garn bereit, wenn du diese Variante stricken möchtest.
